Hackett Project

For this Hackett home, the SM² Construction team worked closely with the owners to design and build a custom carport and deck that felt like a natural extension of their space. Sustainability and sunlight were top priorities - they loved how light filled their home and didn’t want to lose that. So, we carefully positioned the carport to protect the home from UV rays without blocking any of that natural light.

The new deck was all about making outdoor living more beautiful and more accessible. We designed it to flow seamlessly from the house, with a focus on mobility and comfort - while still keeping a modern, clean look.

We also made sure the build reflected the owners' environmental values. We reused materials wherever we could and chose sustainable options throughout the process. One standout feature is the carport roof: it blocks 99.9% of harmful UV rays but still lets light through, keeping the space bright and safe.

The result? A practical, stylish upgrade that fits the home - and the people who live in it - just right.
