This Gowrie project was all about family. The homeowner wanted a safe, generous space where her grandchildren could play, and where she could enjoy her garden - even during Canberra’s cold months.

Building onto an older, uneven structure came with its challenges, but we embraced it as a chance to get creative. SM² Construction designed and built a spacious deck that feels like a natural extension of the home - solid, secure, and made to last.

For peace of mind, we added a tall gate crafted from recycled Colourbond, keeping the kids safe while staying true to the homeowner’s sustainability values. We also built a timber screen from recycled materials that adds both charm and privacy, and installed a water tank to help keep the garden thriving all summer long.

The result? A warm, welcoming space that brings together safety, sustainability, and style - made for making memories
